Nitya Deepam App — Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Nitya Deepam Android application (package com.redlap.nitya), published by RedLapDigital Works. It is separate from the website policy because the app is a genuinely different product: no advertising, no analytics on your practice, and no account. In ordinary use it transmits nothing at all.
1.The short version
The app works entirely on your device. Japa counts, streaks, timer history, chosen city, language and theme are stored in the app's private storage on the phone and are never uploaded. There is no sign-up, no profile, and no server holding anything about you. If you uninstall the app that data is gone — which is also why there is nothing for us to hand over, sell, or lose.
2.What is stored on your device
Japa counts (session, daily and lifetime), dhyana timer history, the days on which you practised, your selected city and its coordinates, language, theme, and reminder preferences. All of it lives in the app's private storage, which no other app on the phone can read.
3.What leaves your device
In normal use, nothing. The panchangam is computed on the phone from built-in astronomical routines, so the app does not fetch timings. It does not contact our servers on launch, during use, or in the background. The only network activity is what you start yourself — tapping a link that opens your browser, or sharing a card into another app.
4.Permissions, and why
The app requests notification permission, and only at the moment you first enable a reminder. If you never turn reminders on, it is never requested. The app does not ask for contacts, precise location, external storage, camera, microphone, phone state, or any advertising identifier. Where you set a city you choose it from a list — the app does not read your device location.
5.Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally by your phone. There is no push service, no token registered with us, and no message sent from a server. Turning reminders off in the app, or in Android settings, stops them completely.
6.Analytics and crash reporting
The app contains no advertising SDK and no behavioural analytics. It does not record which screens you open, how long you practise, or what you count. Where a crash reporter is enabled it collects only anonymous aggregated stability data — a stack trace and a device model — with nothing that ties it to you, and it can be switched off in settings.
7.Children
The app is a general-audience devotional tool. It does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, children included, because it does not collect personal data at all.
8.Nitya Pro
If you buy the optional one-time Pro unlock, the purchase is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your card details, billing address or Google account. Google tells the app only whether an entitlement exists. Refunds follow Google Play's policy.
9.Your data, your device
Because everything is local, the usual rights resolve simply: to see your data, open the app; to delete it, clear the app's storage or uninstall it. There is no account to close and no request to file. If you would like a copy of what the app holds, settings can export it to a file you control.
10.Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes and the new version ships with the app update. Material changes are noted in the release notes.
